We have an Ofsted Outstanding Hat Trick for all 3 of our nurseries!
Everything we do is driven by our desire to offer the highest levels of quality childcare. We believe that the children in our care should have the best facilities, the best and most appropriate range of equipment and above all, the best and most committed team of childcare professionals.
Therefore each of our nurseries have been architecturally designed and purpose-built to be safe and fun for the children in our care.
Each nursery is equipped to the highest possible standards, and has group rooms designed and equipped to suit the various stages of development of children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. In each group room the toys and equipment have been specifically selected for their quality, educational value and safety.
We operate a policy of only employing fully qualified childcare professionals who all hold a recognised childcare qualification, and also hold a first aid and food hygiene certificate. Our policy of ensuring that teamwork and people development are core values within our nurseries, has been recognised by our accreditation as Investors in People.
We are members of the Pre School Learning Alliance, National Day Nurseries Association and the 4Children Organisation.
We were some of the original nurseries to be awarded Neighbourhood Nursery status by Derbyshire and Leicestershire County Councils. Woodville Day Nursery was the first nursery in Derbyshire to be awarded Level 3 accreditation under the National Day Nurseries Association Quality Counts Assurance Scheme (the highest level achievable), with Ashby and Hermitage Day Nurseries currently working towards gaining this Accreditation.
We were successful in winning the Business in the Community Award at the third annual Burton Business Awards, which is an award designed to recognise the achievements of local businesses. To win this accolade, we had to persuade the judges to recognise our corporate responsibility and contribution to the community, via investment, support, maintenance or development of a project or initiative of benefit to the community and business environment. The judges commented: "By working with local and national agencies and initiatives, this company is able to increase the availability of quality childcare for all children, improving the health and emotional development of young children and supporting parents in their aspirations towards employment."
Swingboat Nurseries are owned and operated by Elaine and Graham Blunt, who have a simple philosophy of continually aiming to offer the very best levels of childcare.
All three of our nurseries also operate a satellite Before/After School and School Holiday Clubs, providing continuity of care for working parents/carers.
